About West Texas
OTAT–West Texas is based in Marfa, TX. The communities of West Texas provide a unique small-town experience in one of the most remote regions in the lower 48 states. West Texas offers exceptional natural beauty and wildlife, a million+ acres of public land across multiple national and state parks, 360 days of sun a year, is situated within the Greater Big Bend Dark Sky Preserve, and our region of West Texas also boasts an incredible arts scene and unexpected fine dining. Many of our communities lie directly on the border and cross-cultural exchanges enrich the experience of living here. Small town industry and ranching dominate the economy, though the northern reach of our service region lies in the heart of oil country. West Texas is safe, affordable, quiet, and has a distinct vibe that isn’t for everyone, but you may find you cannot live without.
