About this dog: This classy lady is a sharp one. She is potty-trained, crate-trained, walks well on and off the leash, and enjoys a good car ride. Penelope is quiet and well-mannered and aims to please. Penelope is shy and does require some patience, but will be attached to your hip and begging you to play in no time. She can be a bit fearful of other dogs and people until she gets to know them, but is remarkably well-adjusted considering her neglected upbringing. Penelope would do best in a home with another dog she can play with, but is also grounded enough to provide her the reassurance she craves. Don’t let her initial bashfulness fool you, she is full of vigor and joie de vivre. Check out some of the photos of her most recent zooms! Penelope had a tough and lonely start in life on the streets of Pecos. She came to OTAT-West Texas from the Pecos Animal Shelter.
Foster Testimonial: “While it took a few days to get into a comfortable routine with Penelope she has become an incredibly easy dog who loves her adventures in familiar places with familiar people. Her shyness resurfaces with new people but she’s shown time and time again her capacity to give life a chance and make new friends!”
