About this dog: Jolene is a shy, sweet dog whose start to life was super tough. Jolene was a court-removed dog who came to us with a badly fractured femur and a dislocated hip. She was living outside with seven other dogs. Jolene had two surgeries to repair her leg on 7/9/24 and is recovering well. Her mobility is pretty much perfect though when she runs full til her bad leg doesn’t keep up and she is a tripod at a full gallop. Jolene loves other dogs and requires a confident dog sibling (or three) to look up to/learn from in her new home. She is still shy but loves snuggles and is making good progress with her socialization and confidence. She is house trained and good on leash. She is non-destructive at home so has not been kenneled much. She seems to have no particular fears or anxiety but is just generally under confident and nervous in new situations. Jolene came to OTAT-West Texas from the Pecos Animal Shelter.
Foster Testimonial: “Jolene is a sweet dog and it’s wonderful to see her on the road to recovery. Now that she is out of pain it’s awesome to watch her indulge in the joys of a normal puppyhood. She is looking for a home willing to continue her socialization and grow her confidence so she can be her best self!”
