About this dog: Jolene is a shy, sweet puppy who is just starting to experience life without being in a lot of pain. Jolene was a court-removed dog who came to us with a badly fractured femur and a dislocated hip. She was living outside with seven other dogs. Jolene had two surgeries to repair her leg on 7/9/24 and is recovering well. Her mobility is pretty much perfect though she still is regaining strength in her repaired leg and doesn’t always use it. Jolene loves other dogs and would do best with a confident dog sibling to look up to/learn from in her new home. She is still shy but loves snuggles and is making good progress with her socialization and confidence. She is also well on her way to being house trained and proficient on leash. She is non-destructive at home so has not been kenneled much. She seems to have no particular fears or anxiety. Jolene came to OTAT-WTX from the Pecos Animal Shelter.
Foster Testimonial: “Jolene is a sweet dog and it’s wonderful to see her on the road to recovery. Now that she is out of pain it’s awesome to watch her indulge in the joys of a normal puppyhood. She is looking for a home willing to continue her socialization and grow her confidence so she can be her best self!”
